Screeching Weasel Tickets - Not an Animal in the Wilderness
Enter: one man by the name of Ben Foster, a.k.a. Ben Weasel. He was on a mission to begin a band with the likings of guitarist John Jughead, drummer Steve Cheese, and bass guitarist Vinnie Bovine. Strange names, yes -- but it suited them in their outfit, which they then dubbed the Screeching Weasel, a band that began way back in 1986. Their self-titled debut was released that year of their label signing, and only 3,000 copies were pressed. That didn't matter, as the Weasel kept on working. Once they then dropped the Underdog label, they signed with Roadkill with the release of their second album in 1989: Boogada Boogadaboogada. Although this was some wild times for these musicians, they kept on pushing to make more music, their 1993 album -- arguably the best album from the Weasel -- Anthem for a New Tomorrow was released.Screeching Weasel Tickets - The Sound of the Weasel
Take a wild guess as to what type of genre this band was! It should be plain and simple. They were all about punk rock. And you could tell that they enjoyed it thoroughly. They had an amateurish quality about them that was charming, and obviously based off of the Ramones. Ben Weasel's bitey style was either something you enjoyed or simply despised.
