Great experience
I buy all my tickets on SeatGeek when possible I just make sure I se the prices to all fees included so there are no surprises. I like that it keeps history of all the events you have bought over the years. Their support team is also very helpful. I bought some World Series tickets once and they were marked as regular tickets in the app and once the seller sent the tickets they came up as obstructed view so I called support and got a full refund.Edgar24253
About the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is one of the most storied bowl games in college football, first played on January 1, 1937, in Dallas, Texas. The game was created by Dallas oilman J. Curtis Sanford as a way to promote the sport in Texas and provide a high-profile postseason matchup. Originally hosted at the Cotton Bowl stadium, the game moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in 2010, offering a state-of-the-art venue for this historic event. Sponsored by Goodyear since 2014, the Cotton Bowl is now part of the prestigious "New Year’s Six" bowls in the College Football Playoff (CFP) system.
Historically, the Cotton Bowl featured champions or top teams from the Southwest Conference (SWC) against strong opponents from other conferences. When the SWC dissolved in the 1990s, the Cotton Bowl continued its tradition of hosting marquee matchups, featuring teams from major conferences such as the SEC, Big 12, and Pac-12. Since joining the CFP rotation in 2014, the Cotton Bowl has played an even more significant role in determining college football’s national champion, often hosting CFP semifinal games.
Over the years, the Cotton Bowl has been the stage for many unforgettable moments. One of its most iconic games came in 1979, when quarterback Joe Montana led Notre Dame to a dramatic comeback victory over Houston in freezing temperatures, later dubbed the "Chicken Soup Game." Another historic matchup occurred in 1991, when Miami defeated Texas 46-3 in a dominant performance that secured the Hurricanes a share of the national championship. More recently, the 2021 Cotton Bowl served as a CFP semifinal, where Alabama defeated Cincinnati 27-6, marking the first time a Group of Five team had reached the playoff.
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic continues to be a cornerstone of college football, blending rich history with modern prestige. Its move to AT&T Stadium has elevated the fan experience, while its inclusion in the CFP system ensures its place among the sport’s most significant games. Known for its competitive matchups and iconic moments, the Cotton Bowl remains a cherished tradition in college football, attracting top teams, passionate fans, and national attention each year.
