Evanescence is an American rock band formed in 1995 in Little Rock, Arkansas, led by vocalist and pianist Amy Lee. They became internationally famous for mixing dramatic, goth-tinged rock with orchestral and metal influences, gaining widespread success in the early 2000s. Their breakthrough came with the diamond-selling debut album Fallen, which produced major hits and helped define the early alternative rock and nu-metal era. Over the years, the band has evolved musically while maintaining Lee’s powerful vocals and cinematic songwriting as its signature.

Evanescence’s most recent full studio album is The Bitter Truth, released in March 2021. This record marked their return after a long gap, blending alternative metal, gothic rock, and hard rock elements and delivering songs that resonated strongly with fans worldwide. As of late 2025, the band has released singles like “Afterlife” (for the Devil May Cry Netflix series) and “Fight Like a Girl” (with K.Flay), and they are actively working on new music that is expected to form their upcoming sixth album in early 2026.
