About Headhunterz
Willem Rebergen grew up playing soccer and singing in a children's choir. Today, he is a famed Dutch hardstyle DJ/producer better known by the stage name Headhunterz.
As it is for most DJs, discovery was the name of the game for Rebergen. He gained his first real experience as a DJ at Defqon 1 Festival in the Netherlands, where he was noticed by The Prophet (aka Dov J. Elkabas, owner of the hardstyle record label Scantraxx). Before long, Headhunterz was lined up for major events like Qlimax, Q-Base and more.
By 2010, Headhunterz was ranked 17th in DJ Magazine's yearly Top 100 DJs list. It marked the first year any hardstyle DJ had cracked the Top 100, and accompanying Headhunterz were artists D-Block and S-te-Fan, Noisecontrolllers and Showtek.
2013 proved to be a huge year for Headhunterz. He signed to the major dance music label Ultra Music, launched his own label "Hard With Style Records," and played a huge North American tour that included events like "EDC: Las Vegas, New York and Chicago." He then launched his "EXPLODE" tour in mid-September.
Headhunterz released his latest track "COLORS feat. Tatu" last year. He entered the Dutch iTunes Top 100 at number 5 and number 2 under the dance category. He ended 2013 ranked 23rd in the DJ Mag Top 100, and toward the end of the year the song "United Kids of the World" was released with Krewella. That cut was ultimately criticized for being mainstream hardstyle due to less raw sound.
