Katatonia will embark on the Katatonia Waking State of North America 2026 Tour.

The Katatonia Waking State of North America 2026 Tour will run February 5, 2026 through March 11, 2026.

Katatonia is a Swedish metal/rock band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by vocalist/drummer Jonas Renkse and guitarist Anders Nyström. They began in the death-doom/gothic metal tradition, and over decades evolved their sound toward melancholic, progressive, atmospheric rock/metal.

Their music blends heavy riffs, gloom-laden melody, introspective lyrics and moody atmosphere—spanning death-doom, gothic, progressive metal/rock and dark alt-rock. They are recognized as influential in the development of Nordic doom/goth metal and for sustaining a consistently artistic progression.

Katatonia's most recent studio album is titled Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, released on June 6, 2025. The album marks a new chapter in Katatonia’s evolution, retaining their signature melancholic core while incorporating contemporary production, new guitarists and a fresh creative phase.
