Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American Southern rock band formed in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida. They are best known for pioneering the Southern rock genre, combining blues, rock, and country influences with twin-guitar harmonies and storytelling lyrics. The classic lineup included Ronnie Van Zant (vocals), Gary Rossington (guitar), Allen Collins(guitar), Larry Junstrom (bass), and Bob Burns (drums). Over decades, the band has become synonymous with rock anthems like “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird,” earning a place as one of America’s most iconic rock acts.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s most recent studio album is Last of a Dyin’ Breed, released in 2012. The album reflects the band’s signature Southern rock sound while incorporating modern production elements, and it features both hard-driving rockers and soulful ballads. While new studio releases have been rare since then, the band continues to maintain a strong presence through touring, live recordings, and special edition releases that celebrate their legacy.
