There have been plenty of memorable moments in the National League Wild Card Game, but the 2017 matchup between division rivals – Arizona and Colorado – was unforgettable. The game featured numerous swings on the scoreboard, with Arizona jumping out to a big 6-0 lead after just three innings. Colorado would nearly come back on different occasions, but a stunning two-run triple by pitcher Archie Bradley – along with plenty of other offensive heroics – proved to be too much for the Rockies to overcome.
Since its inception, the Wild Card Game (in both the American and National Leagues) has been a huge success. With the 2022 change to a best-of-three series, the NL Wild Card makes room for more unforgettable moments.
