Each year in mid-February one of the most exciting sporting events takes place: the DAYTONA 500. Unlike most sports where the most important games are played at the end of the year, NASCAR’s premier race is the first competition of each year.

Given the DAYTONA 500’s prestige and large prize purse, the competition between racers is fierce and virtually unrivaled on the NASCAR circuit.

This year’s “Great American Race” is set to take place on President’s Day Weekend, with Speedweek events taking place leading up to the green flag on Sunday, February 17.

Attending the big race at Daytona is something that should be on every sports fan’s bucket list of live sporting events. However, finding the perfect spot to watch a NASCAR race at Daytona can be a bit tricky if you’ve never attended the race before. Here at SeatGeek, we’ve put together a quick overview of everything you need to know about seating at the DAYTONA 500 International Speedway.

DAYTONA 500 Seating Chart

The permanent seating fixtures for fans at DAYTONA 500 are located on the front stretch, where there are five different seating zone names corresponding to where the seats are located.

The zones are as follows:

Turn 4 – Sections 108/308/408 through 125/330/430 – These sections are located closest to the track’s fourth turn

Pit In – Sections 126/331/431 through 139/339/439 – These sections are located towards the beginning of pit road

Start/Finish – Sections 140/340/440 through 152/362/462 – These sections are located on the start/finish line in the middle of the front stretch

Pit Out – Sections 153/363/463 through 166/372/472 – These sections are located towards the end of pit road

Turn 1 – Sections 167/373/473 through 184/395/495- These sections are located closest to the track’s first turn

Each of the five individual sections has three tiers of seating, one in the 100s level, one in the 300s level, and one in the 400s level.

Alongside their selection of regular seating, Daytona International Speedway also has suite seating located at the start/finish line as well as behind sections 160-170 and 124-133.

In addition to the traditional seating on the front stretch, fans are also able to purchase special tickets which allow them to park recreational vehicles on the infield of the track. Race-goers that chose this method usually watch the race from a folding chair on the top of their RV in order to get the best view possible.

Best Seats at Daytona International Speedway

One of the best parts about Daytona is that all the seating sections are centrally located, unlike other tracks where there are seats in the corners which sometimes have subpar sightlines. Thanks to the centralized seating, you’re pretty much guaranteed a good view no matter where you sit.

One general rule worth mentioning about NASCAR seats is that often the view is a bit better when you sit in seats that are located higher up. Sitting higher up gives you a better sightline to see the rest of the track, as it can be a little tricky tracking all the action if you’re sitting in the first few rows in the 100s section.

With that being said, the consensus “best seats in the house” vary due to personal tastes, but one section worth looking into is the 300s levels of the Start/Finish seats which range from sections 340-362. These sections are located smack in the middle of the front stretch and are high enough up that you should have no trouble seeing the entire track without having to look around much.
