Alex G (born Alexander Giannascoli) is an American indie rock musician from Philadelphia known for his introspective songwriting, lo-fi beginnings, and evolving sonic palette. He first gained attention by self-releasing music online in the early 2010s, building a dedicated fanbase with his emotionally resonant lyrics and DIY aesthetic. Over the years he’s expanded from bedroom recordings to producing rich, genre-bending albums that blend indie rock, folk, and experimental sounds, earning critical acclaim and a loyal following.

Alex G's most recent album is Headlights, released in July 2025. It’s his tenth studio album and notably his major-label debut on RCA Records. The record features singles such as “Afterlife,” “June Guitar,” and “Oranges,” and has been celebrated for expanding his sound while maintaining the emotional depth fans love. The album builds on his earlier work with layered instrumentation and introspective, evocative songwriting.
