About O.A.R. Tickets

O.A.R., short for Of A Revolution, formed in 1996 in Rockville, Maryland, when high school friends Marc Roberge, Chris Culos, Richard On, and Benj Gershman began playing music together. Their sound, rooted in rock but infused with elements of reggae and jam-band energy, set them apart from their peers. When the band members attended Ohio State University, they met saxophonist Jerry DePizzo, who joined to complete the lineup. During these early years, O.A.R. built a devoted college following through grassroots efforts, online file sharing, and relentless touring rather than relying on traditional record label promotion.

Their breakout came with the release of Risen in 2001, which marked their entry into the national spotlight and led to extensive touring across the country. The band’s 2005 album Stories of a Stranger pushed them firmly into mainstream success with hit singles like “Love and Memories” and “Lay Down.” One of their defining moments came when they sold out Madison Square Garden, a major milestone that cemented O.A.R.’s reputation as a powerhouse live act. Their dynamic shows, improvisational style, and loyal fan base made them a standout among early 2000s rock acts.

Over the following years, O.A.R. continued to evolve while maintaining their feel-good, community-driven ethos. Albums like King (2011), The Rockville LP (2014), and The Arcade (2022) showcased their ability to grow musically while staying true to their roots. Known for blending introspective lyrics with expansive, uplifting instrumentation, the band has sustained a decades-long career through authenticity, connection, and consistency. Today, O.A.R. remains a celebrated touring band, loved for their high-energy performances and enduring message of unity through music
