Portland Timbers Details

Backed by some of the most enthusiastic supporters in all of sports, the Portland Timbers consistently deliver a premier on-field product. Portland, the 2015 MLS Cup champions, concluded the 2017 season with a 15-11-8 record and the Western Conference’s top seed heading into the MLS postseason.

With a crucial win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on the final day of the regular season, the Timbers earned their second Cascadia Cup in six seasons after besting Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver in the longstanding rivalry competition amongst the three Pacific Northwest clubs.

The 2018 season will bring an exciting new face to the club, with Head Coach Giovanni Savarese taking the reins. Savarese, a former standout MLS striker and Venezuelan international, most recently coached the New York Cosmos to a number of terrific seasons in the NASL and will look to repeat that track success in Portland.

Building off their strong season in 2017, the Timbers have added a number of exciting new players for the upcoming season and are anchored by a strong core of returning players, including 2017 MLS MVP Diego Valeri.

With a combination of talent, experience, and fan support that is hard to match, the Timbers are set up for another successful campaign in 2018.
