July 13, 2015 (New York, NY) – SeatGeek, the leading mobile platform for sports and concert tickets, today announced the appointment of Steve Hafner to its board of directors. Hafner currently serves as the CEO of KAYAK, the travel search engine he co-founded in 2004.
Hafner brings a wealth of experience to SeatGeek’s board from his over 20 years experience building massively successful e-commerce businesses, most notably in the travel space. As one of KAYAK’s cofounders, Hafner spearheaded the company’s emergence into the leading travel metasearch property and guided KAYAK through a successful IPO and subsequent $2.1b acquisition by The Priceline Group in May 2013.
“I’m eager to help Jack and Russ turn SeatGeek into a household name for event tickets,” said Hafner. “They’ve assembled a great team and clearly have the best product in the space. I’m also delighted to work with fellow Dartmouth entrepreneurs.”
Prior to KAYAK’s founding, Hafner served as SVP of Consumer Travel at Orbitz and as a Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group. Hafner earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
In addition to Hafner, SeatGeek’s Board of Directors includes Jack Groetzinger, Russ D’Souza, Dan O’Keefe, John Locke and David Frankel.
