Bears vs. Packers NFL Playoff Game Is Driving Record Ticket Prices

The Chicago Bears are hosting their first playoff game in seven years, and it’s quickly become the hottest ticket of the season at SeatGeek.

Ben Johnson led Chicago to an 11-6 record in his first season as head coach, which resulted in the NFC North crown and a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Their first-round matchup? None other than their hated division rival, the Green Bay Packers, who enter as the No. 7 seed. The Packers are also the only team to win as a No. 7 seed in NFL playoff history, pulling off the upset over the No. 2-seeded Cowboys on Jan. 14, 2024. 

A Rare Bears–Packers Playoff Showdown Is Driving Record Ticket Demand

Despite one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries, the Bears and Packers have only met twice in the postseason. Chicago struck first with a playoff win in 1941 before Green Bay evened things up with a victory in the 2010 NFC Championship. 

A rare playoff battle between these two legendary franchises has only added fuel to the fire to the demand of Saturday night’s contest at Soldier Field. The average resale ticket price for Packers-Bears at SeatGeek is currently $883.76, which is the highest of any NFL game this season. It’s edging out the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles season opener, which ended up at $855.66.

Packers-Bears is also in a league of its own for ticket demand for this year’s Wild Card Weekend. The second-highest average resale ticket price for this round is San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles, which comes in at $492.28.

Not only does Packers-Bears top this year’s Wild Card Weekend in ticket demand, but it also currently has surpassed any other Wild Card matchup over the past five years. The previous hottest Wild Card ticket was Matthew Stafford’s return to Detroit on Jan. 14, 2024, with the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions winding up at $790.04.
