Getting to Lambeau Field

Most of the lots closest to Lambeau are reserved for season parking passholders, so fans without a pass usually park a few blocks away. You can reserve a private space, pay to park on a lawn or business property or look for free street parking within walking distance.

Parking in somebody’s yard is normal in Green Bay, but the rules vary from house to house. Some owners let fans tailgate. Others only want the car. Ask before setting up a grill or cooler, and bring more than one way to pay because private properties may still take cash even though Packers lots do not.

A limited number of single-game passes may be available in Lot 15 at Titletown, but tailgating is not allowed there.

Oneida Street closes between Lombardi Avenue and Mike McCarthy Way four hours before kickoff and stays closed until two hours after the game. Once you get close, follow police and event signs instead of relying on your map app.

Green Bay Metro also runs four free game-day routes. Service begins five hours before kickoff, with buses leaving Lambeau about every 30 minutes and continuing for roughly three hours after the game. Check the schedule for your date because stops and times can change.

Rideshares meet near Mike McCarthy Way and Holmgren Way. After the game, expect to walk away from the stadium and wait through traffic before finding your driver.

What first-timers need to know before a Packers game at Lambeau Field

The biggest surprise for many first-time visitors is the seating. Much of Lambeau still uses aluminum bleachers, including Sections 100 through 138 and 300 through 354. They can feel tight once everyone is bundled up, so a $10 seat-back rental is worth considering. Rentals are cashless and first come, first served. Sections ending in “S” have individual chairbacks.

Once you reach your section, look up at the Packers Ring of Honor running around the stadium. The names of franchise legends sit above the bowl, while the newer south end zone rises several levels higher than the original seating.

Outside the stadium, Harlan Plaza has large bronze statues of Curly Lambeau and Vince Lombardi. The Lambeau Leap Wall sits near the Packers Pro Shop entrance on the north end of the Atrium, where fans can climb into position for the standard first-trip photo.

One last oddity: the main outdoor concourses do not have drinking fountains because the pipes could freeze. Bottled water is sold throughout the stadium, and select indoor bars can provide tap water on request.

Best seats to be close to a Lambeau Leap

Sections 100 and 138 are two of the best places to sit if getting close to a Lambeau Leap is the priority. Both are in the lower corners of the north end zone, close to the wall where players can reach the crowd after a touchdown.

The corner angle is also easier to follow than a seat directly behind the goalposts. You still get the end-zone celebration without losing quite as much of the field.

Best seats for more comfort

Look at the south end-zone sections ending in “S” (like 448S or 740S) if you want an individual chairback instead of an aluminum bench. These seats also come with cupholders and a little more personal space, which matters once winter coats start filling the row.

They sit higher and farther from the field than many lower-bowl seats, but they are much easier on your back over four quarters.

Best lower-level view

Sections 119 and 120 sit closest to midfield, while 118 and 121 give you nearly the same angle and may cost less.

Rows 20 through 40 are the safer choice for seeing the whole field. You are still close enough to hear the sideline, but high enough that coaches, players and equipment do not block as much of the near boundary.

These sections use aluminum bleachers, so rent a seat back if you want more support.

Best value seats

The 700 Level sits high above the south end zone, so no part of the field feels especially close. What you get instead is a clear look at the entire play, with the north video board directly in front of you when the action gets a bit tougher to follow.

Tailgating near Lambeau Field

Tailgating spreads well beyond Lambeau’s official lots. Fans grill behind cars, outside local businesses and on front lawns throughout the neighborhood.

In Packers lots, your setup must stay within the 9-by-6-foot space directly behind your vehicle. Charcoal and propane grills are allowed, but wood fires and turkey fryers are not. Grills must remain supervised and fully extinguished before you leave, and the entire setup has to be packed away before kickoff.

Private homes and businesses set their own rules. Some welcome grills, tents and coolers with a paid parking spot, while others only allow parking. Ask before unloading anything.

Titletown lots, including Lot 15, do not allow tailgating. Fans parking there can walk to Johnsonville Tailgate Village outside the Oneida Nation Gate instead. For food and drinks outside the stadium, cross Ridge Road into Titletown. Hinterland Brewery is the best bet for beer, burgers and wood-fired pizza. Homefield Pub + Social has more room for groups, while 46 Below at the base of Ariens Hill works for a quicker stop.

Titletown also has a playground, game court and open lawn where pregame events take place. Ariens Hill opens for tubing in winter when the weather cooperates.
