If you spend all week looking forward to a Sunday full of NFL action, chances are you’ve considered purchasing season tickets to your favorite football team before. Season tickets are something that most fans dream about having, as they guarantee entry to an unparalleled amount of live football over the course of the year. A season ticket guarantees entry to at least eight regular season games and two preseason contests, as well as the ability to purchase playoff tickets, provided your favorite team makes it that far.
If you’re a New York Giants fanatic who is interested in purchasing season tickets, we’ve got you covered with a guide on everything you need to know to get your hands on those coveted seats.
Before we get into our guide on how to buy season tickets for the Giants, we thought we’d do a quick rundown of the benefits of having season tickets.
Season tickets are a flat fee per game, so you won’t have to pay extra money for games that have increased importance or higher demand.
Season ticket holders are given the first right of refusal for playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
The league offers a few perks of its own to season ticket holders, including free access to NFL RedZone, a discount at the NFL’s online shop, and access to the league’s Ticket Exchange.
The Giants offer several different benefits for their season ticket holders, including a draft party, exclusive access to training camp practices, and a team town hall event.
Prior to the Giants’ move to MetLife Stadium in 2010, the team had a ridiculously long waiting list that was over 70,000 names long. However, the Giants no longer have a season ticket waiting list thanks to the Personal Seat Licenses the team used to finance the building of MetLife Stadium.
Each year, there are a limited number of season tickets available through the team, and fans who are interested in purchasing season tickets directly from the Giants can get in contact with the team’s ticketing department by filling out an electronic form. Once this form is filled out, a representative from the Giants ticketing department will get in touch regarding seating options and ticket pricing. The Giants ticket office can also be reached via phone at 1-888-NYG-1925.
Even though the G-Men have only made a single playoff appearance since 2011, the team has one of the highest average ticket costs in the league, coming in at an average of $115.31 according to Statista. For the 2019 season, the least expensive season ticket for MetLife Stadium cost $894, with the best seats in the lower level going for upwards of $1,700 per seat. Club level seating ranged from $2,430 per ticket all the way to $6,526 per seat for tickets in the coach’s club section. A seating map containing the exact price for each seat at MetLife Stadium can be found here.
In addition to the cost of season tickets, there’s another expensive required for potential season ticket buyers, which is called a Personal Seat License, or PSL. This means that every season ticket holder is required to make a one-time payment per seat to purchase the right to buy season tickets. PSLs for the Giants range from $1,000 for seats in the terrace to $20,000 for lower level seating sections that are on the 50-yard line. PSLs for club seats start at $7,500 and go all the way up to a whopping $20,000 for the best seats in the house.
Although purchasing a PSL requires a hefty upfront cost, there’s one key benefit – the ability to sell your seats at any time through the team’s marketplace. The PSL marketplace also enables fans the ability to purchase season tickets directly from another Giants fan, which is great for new season ticket holders as it gives them more potential seats to choose from. The Giants marketplace has almost 800 current listings, starting at just $175 per seat.
The season ticket renewal period starts in mid-February for current season ticket holders, with ticket holders required to pay off the full price of their invoice by May 1. Although the team has switched to digital tickets, physical commemorative tickets are mailed to all season ticket holders in mid-July.
