Celine Dion, meet Richard Dunn

It's not often that a performer like Celine Dion makes headlines for someone else 'singing' one of her songs – especially when the scenario involves a man, a video camera and a near-empty Las Vegas airport.

But such was the case when a guy named Richard Dunn created a viral video merely by lip-synching to Dion's version of "All By Myself" while waiting to catch a flight. The video, which has garnered millions and millions of hits on Vimeo and YouTube, actually prompted a huge response by Dion. The mega-star not only reached out to Dunn to acknowledge she had seen the video, she extended an invitation to Dunn's entire family to one of her Las Vegas concerts and brought them all backstage.

The meeting was the icing on the cake for Dunn, who has joked to media outlets he realizes he's on his "17th minute of fame" all because he shot, performed and edited the video all by himself. In fact, he's been offered a book deal to write 30,000 words on how he made the "All By Myself" video all by himself.

While Dion is still performing in Vegas, a new Hotel-Casino in Manila is said to be rushing to wrap up construction of a performing arts theater by November, so that Dion could inaugurate the venue with an invitation-only performance.

The show is still in the planning stages, but Dion is confirmed to be taking several nights off from her long-running Vegas stint to perform in the Philippines on November 29 at SM Mall of Asia Arena, multiple outlets have reported.

Few female vocalists can boast a more diverse resume than Celine Dion. By the age of 12 she had written one of her first songs, "Ce N'etati Qu'un Rêve" (It Was Only a Dream), and by 18 she had recorded nine French albums and won numerous Felix and Juno awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy). Two years later she captured the top prize at a Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland, and by the time she recorded her first English language album in 1990, Dion was on her way to becoming one of the biggest international stars in pop music history.

Dion's real breakthrough came not with her first top-five single, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now," but was fueled instead by a much bigger commercial vehicle. In 1992, she recorded the theme to Disney's hit animated feature Beauty and the Beast with Peabo Bryson. The song became a No. 1 smash, capturing both a Grammy and an Academy Award. The song was also featured on her second English album, the eponymous "Celine Dion," which went on to sell more than 12 million copies internationally.

Simply put, Dion has accomplished more in several decades than most artists do in a lifetime. Beyond power ballads like "When I Fall in Love" and "Because You Loved Me," she solidified her stardom with a performance of "The Power of the Dream" at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. By the time she recorded the theme song "My Heart Will Go On" for the blockbuster film Titanic, she occupied both the No. 1 and No. 2 slots on Billboard's album charts for the movie soundtrack and her own "Let's Talk About Love."

Though she has famously taken time off from her career in order to focus on her family, Dion has never disappeared completely from the music scene. Not only did she continue recording in studio, but in early 2002 she announced what would become a five-year residency at The Colosseum at Ceasars Palce in Las Vegas. When the run ended on December 15, 2007, the show had accumulated a total gross of $400 million dollars, while being seen by nearly 3 million fans.

Dion is set to release another English language album in April 2013. It is expected to be titled "Water and a Flame," and contain cover songs performed in her Las Vegas show as well as brand new songs.
