Kings Of Leon Details
Kings of Leon
Though Kings of Leon was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, the band enjoyed most of their initial success in the United Kingdom. They earned a total of 9 Top 40 singles on the British Charts, with 3 of their studio albums hitting the top 5 on the UK Albums Charts. It was the release of their 2008 album, “Only by the Night”, that finally brought them success in their home country, with the singles, “Use Somebody”, “Notion”, and “Sex on Fire” from that album all hitting number 1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. “Only by the Night” was their first US platinum album, though their earlier albums have since been certified platinum. “Only by the Night” was also the number one selling album in Australia that same year and was certified platinum nine times. The world couldn’t get enough of their unique mix of Southern Rock, Blues, Alternative Rock, and Arena Rock, making Kings of Leon into an international music phenomenon.
Kings of Leon has had quite a bit of success with their studio albums and live albums alike, selling over 21 million albums, and more than 38 million singles worldwide. “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody” achieved wild success as singles, with both songs going platinum in several international markets in addition to going platinum in the United States.
Kings of Leon has been nominated for several awards, winning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year in 2009, and Best Rock Performance for the song, “Use Somebody”, the same year. In 2008 Kings of Leon won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance for the song “Sex on Fire”. Kings of Leon has also won 2 Brit Awards, International Album for “Only by the Night” and International Group, both in 2009.
Kings of Leon Concert Setlist
Fans can expect to hear Kings of Leon’s breakout his, “Use Somebody”, in concert. The popular song is a throwback to their earlier work that fans can’t help but sing along with. “Sex on Fire” is one of Kings of Leon’s biggest hits and makes the setlist again and again. Their rock anthem, “Radioactive”, is one that fans love to sing along with and is a prime example of the best of Kings of Leon and really shows off who they are as musicians, lyricists, and vocalists. The hypnotic “I Want You” also makes the setlist, as does their groovy, poignant jam, “Beautiful War”.
Kings of Leon in Concert
In this day of premium sound engineering it is rare to find a band that sounds exactly like the record when they’re live. But Kings of Leon in concert sound like just like the studio album, turning a lively concert into something so much more. A Kings of Leon performance is high energy, with the band connecting with the fans singing along to their biggest hits as one epic choir of beautiful voices. Concertgoers are sure to enjoy this one of a kind concert experience.
