G-Eazy Details

G-Eazy is a successful American rapper and record producer. His career started back in 2008 while he was in college at Loyola University in New Orleans. It was there that he worked on singles with his fellow student, Christoph Andersson, who was a producer as well. During his college years, G-Eazy became known in the local hip hop community, joining a group called “The Bay Boyz.” The group released a few songs on their Myspace page and eventually G-Eazy started to gain popularity.

In 2010, G-Eazy was given the opportunity to open for the likes of Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. From there, he started to release music on his own website. While his mixtapes didn’t take off, he did manage to have one mix in particular that took off. His updated version of “Runaround Sue” garnered millions and millions of views on YouTube.

From touring to creating his own albums, G-Eazy’s career really skyrocketed in 2015. He played at some of the best music festivals in the world, including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and more. In 2016, G-Eazy’s single “Me, Myself & I”, in collaboration with Bebe Rexha, peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Since his rise to fame, G-Eazy has collaborated with a number of famous artists. Britney Spears, Pia Mia, Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, and Halsey are just a few of the many that G-Eazy has been fortunate enough to work with. In 2017, G-Eazy took home the MTV Europe Music Award for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist.
