Portugal. The Man Details

Portugal. The Man Tickets - Band History

Portugal. The Man formed in 2004 in Portland, Oregon from the ashes of emo band Anatomy of a Ghost. Shortly after, the band signed to Fearless Records and released their classic album Waiter: You Vultures!. Due to the album's emo influence, the band frequently toured with acts like Gatsby's American Dream, Circa Survive and The Fall of Troy during the time. In 2008, they left Fearless Records and went on to release Censored Colors and The Satanic Satanist. Despite the fact that many of their albums have leaked ahead of time, the band is widely considered one of the most prolific, as well as respected bands in their scene, due to the fact that they've released albums every year. In 2010, their hard work paid off when they signed to major label Atlantic Records.

Portugal. The Man Tickets - The Music

Though Portugal. The Man began as an indie band with emo overtones, their current sound bears no trace of emo whatsoever. In fact, the band has evolved their sound with each album. Church Mouth (2007) contained blues and soul influences, while Censored Colors (2008) featured a slower, ballad-oriented version of the band. The Satanic Satanist (2009) was drenched in Americana, and In the Mountain, In the Cloud (2011) bore many similarities to The Beatles. It is not at all outrageous to expect the band to continue to evolve in future albums. Their musicianship comes out brilliantly in their live show, which often features gorgeous lazer shows.
