Raekwon, whose birth name is Corey Woods (born January 12, 1970), is a celebrated American rapper best known as a founding member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. He rose to prominence with the group's groundbreaking 1993 debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), an album that helped redefine East Coast hip-hop. Raekwon’s solo career launched in high style in 1995 with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, widely revered as a mafioso-rap classic and a significant influence on future generations of MCs.

Raekwon’s most recent studio album is titled The Emperor’s New Clothes, released on July 18, 2025 through Ice H2O Records and Mass Appeal Records. This eighth studio project is part of Mass Appeal’s “Legend Has It…” 2025 series, which also includes albums from Nas, Ghostface Killah and others. Critical reception has been mixed: while the album includes collaborations with Wu-Tang members and established producers, some reviewers found it lacked the energy and cohesion of his earlier works
