Ratboys is an indie rock band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2010 by Julia Steiner and Dave Sagan during their time at Notre Dame University, the duo expanded to a full band with the addition of bassist Sean Neumann in 2016 and drummer Marcus Nuccio in 2017. Their music blends elements of indie rock, post-country, and folk, often characterized by introspective lyrics and dynamic arrangements. The band's name, "Ratboys," reflects their playful yet earnest approach to music.

Ratboys' most recent album is The Window, released in August 2023. Produced by Chris Walla, the album showcases a blend of country-leaning indie rock and vivid storytelling. Tracks like "Morning Zoo," "Black Earth, WI," and "No Way" highlight Julia Steiner's lyrical prowess, while songs such as "Crossed That Line" and "It's Alive!" introduce engaging rock elements. The title track poignantly addresses personal loss, emphasizing the album's emotional depth. The Windowhas been recognized for its polished production and raw authenticity, marking a confident stride for Ratboys in their musical journey.
