Sam Grisman Project is an acoustic ensemble founded by bassist Sam Grisman, the son of legendary mandolinist David "Dawg" Grisman. The band was formed to honor the rich musical legacy of "Dawg music" and to create new interpretations of the acoustic traditions that shaped Sam's upbringing. Their performances blend elements of bluegrass, folk, and jam band influences, delivering a fresh take on classic tunes associated with David Grisman and Jerry Garcia. The lineup includes multi-instrumentalists Ric Robertson, Aaron Lipp, and Chris "Hollywood" English, with occasional collaborations from other musicians.

Sam Grisman Project's most recent release is Temple Cabin Sessions Volume I, which came out in 2023. This album features acoustic renditions of classic songs from the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, and the Grisman canon, showcasing the band's unique style and musicality. Tracks like "Catfish John," "Stealin'," "Peggy-O," and "New Speedway Boogie" highlight the group's ability to reinterpret familiar tunes with fresh energy. The album is available on various streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
