We’ve reached September, which is good news and bad news for baseball fans everywhere. The good news is we’re inching closer and closer to the playoffs and World Series. The bad news is there are only a few more weeks of regular season action left. 

But in more good news, teams across the league continue to pull out all the stops for giveaway days, and as we do every month, we’re here to point out some of the best promotions you can take part in just by heading to the park on a certain day in September.

Magic’s in the air

Chicago White Sox: White Sox Magic Wand (first 20,000 fans) September 4th vs. Minnesota Twins

The White Sox have been one of baseball’s most magical teams all year long, and the magic continues Sept. 4 with White Sox Magic Wand night. After giving away Pope Hats last month, the team now will hand out 20,000 magic wands, honoring reliever Mike Vasil, who has brought a magic wand to the dugout all season long as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. 

Only the Brewers can pull this off

Milwaukee Brewers: Oktoberfest alpine hat (first 25,000 fans) September 12th vs. Cincinnati Reds

Oktoberfest will be here before you know it, and what better team to get you ready for the fun than the Brewers? Milwaukee will be giving out 25,000 Oktoberfest alpine hats, which are not just fun, but are perfect for any and all Oktoberfest activities. Who knows? Maybe this will be the perfect hat to wear during the Brewers’ likely playoff run.

We’re nearly to fall, and while baseball is entering the final stages of the season before the playoffs begin, other leagues are set to get started very soon. The NFL starts in less than two weeks, and Baltimore as well as New England and the Bay Area are all very excited about their teams’ prospects this year. Their baseball teams – the Orioles, Red Sox and Giants – are all getting you ready for the upcoming football season with special themed jerseys. 

The Orioles’ giveaway is a special O’s jersey that’s in the Ravens’ colors and has star receiver Zay Flowers’ No. 4 on the back. The Sox are giving out jerseys themed like the Patriots that feature the legendary David Ortiz’s No. 34. And the Giants are giving out football-styled jerseys with ace Logan Webb’s No. 62. 

As for the Rays, they’re getting Tampa Bay fans ready for the upcoming NHL season with a hockey jersey that’s perfect for rooting for both the Rays as well as the always dangerous Tampa Bay Lightning.

New York Mets: Home Run Apple Piggybank (first 5,000 fans 12 and under) September 6th vs. San Francisco Giants

San Diego Padres: Superhero lunchbox (first 10,000 fans 14 and under) September 20th vs. Miami Marlins 

Teams always seem to do a good job of making sure kiddos are able to walk away from the park with some goodies, and the Mets and Padres have great gate giveaways this week for the youngsters this September. 

The Mets’ iconic Home Run Apple, which appears in the outfield after every New York longball, is now in the form of a piggybank, which fans 12 and under can take home Sept. 6. 

As for the Padres, with the school year starting, the team has an awesome lunchbox giveaway that sports San Diego’s top stars making incredible plays with an iconic comic book look.

There are always great ways to honor your current players, and the Dodgers, Mariners and Rangers all have excellent giveaways this September that do just that. 

The Dodgers have had a ton of giveaways celebrating their 2025 World Series-winning team, and on Sept. 6, their bobblehead giveaway highlights “The Catch,” which saw Andy Pages make a game- and series-saving catch while colliding with Kike Hernandez in Game 7 of last year’s World Series. This epic moment is now immortalized in bobblehead form, which is just how it ought to be. 

The Mariners have had a longstanding partnership with Funko, a Washington-based company, to make special Funko Pop! statues of current and former players that the team gives away throughout the season. The Mariners will give away Funkos of their star closer, Andres Munoz, for all three games of what should be a very important series against the Rangers. 

And speaking of those Rangers, Texas has a fun bobblehead night in store on Sept. 16 with Nathan Eovaldi decked out in old school pilot gear, flying an old prop plane as its “flying ace.”

Miami Marlins: Dontrelle Willis Hall of Fame bobblehead (first 10,000 fans) September 13th vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Chicago Cubs: Sammy Sosa bobblehead (first 10,000 fans) September 13th vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates: Roberto Clemente bobblehead (first 21,000 fans) September 15th vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Colorado Rockies: Todd Helton replica statue (first 15,000 fans) September 19th vs. Seattle Mariners 

Kansas City Royals: Salvador Perez City Connect bobblehead (first 20,000 fans) September 25th vs. Cleveland Guardians

It’s always fun to go to the park to celebrate franchise legends past and present, and these five clubs will be doing just that in September with iconic bobblehead and statue giveaways. 

The Marlins induct the “D-Train” Dontrelle Willis into their team’s Hall of Fame on Sept. 13, and Miami fans can secure a bobblehead of Willis rocking his iconic high socks with his patented tall leg kick when the team faces the Dodgers. 

As for the Cubs, the franchise and former slugger Sammy Sosa reconciled last year to a great fan ovation, and the only man with three 60-homer seasons has another awesome bobblehead in his honor that will be given away Sept. 13. Sosa’s iconic home run hop is on full display here as well.

The Pirates honor one of baseball’s best players and men on Sept. 15 with Roberto Clemente getting a bobblehead in his honor on Roberto Clemente Day. The legendary Hall of Fame outfielder is waving his hat to the crowd with this bobblehead, and what better day to give this away than Sept. 15?

The Rockies got another Hall of Famer a few years ago in Todd Helton, one of the best hitters of his era. The legendary first baseman was a big part of the Rockies’ 2007 World Series run, and he caught the final out of the NLCS before pointing to the sky with both arms. That image will be immortalized forever with a statue on Sept. 19, and fans can get a replica of this statue that same day. 

While he’s still active, Salvador Perez is a Royals legend, and who knows how much longer he’ll continue to suit up. The 15-year pro has at least one more bobblehead night to headline here in 2026, as the iconic backstop is rocking the team’s sweet City Connect uniforms with a big smile across his face.

Throwback jerseys that deserve a chef’s kiss

Washington Nationals: Montreal Expos replica jersey (first 20,000 fans) September 12th vs. Los Angeles Angels

Arizona Diamondbacks: 2001 World Series throwback jersey (first 25,000 fans) September 19 vs. New York Yankees

I am a sucker for throwback gear. As such, the Nationals’ and Diamondbacks’ throwback jersey nights caught my eye immediately.

The Nationals famously moved from Montreal to Washington D.C. ahead of the 2005 season, rebranding from the Expos to the Nationals. Hopefully we get MLB expansion in the near future and the great city of Montreal can get a team back, but for now, the Nationals honor their history north of the border with an iconic Expos throwback jersey. It’s the Expos’ old baby blue uniform, and if there was ever a reason for Montreal area residents to make a trip across the border to Washington D.C., Sept. 12 is a good time to plan a trip. 

As for the Diamondbacks, they’ll honor the best team in franchise history on Sept. 19 with a 2001 throwback jersey giveaway. Arizona won its lone World Series title that year, and the famous grey jersey with black sleeves and stripes and the purple “Arizona” on the front can be yours. And for good measure, the Dbacks are giving these out when the Yankees, who they beat in the 2001 World Series, come to the desert. 

A nod to a champ

New York Yankees: Josh Hart Yankees bobblehead (first 18,000 fans) September 25th vs. Baltimore Orioles

In case you missed it, New York is a city of champions once again as the Knicks won the NBA Finals. The Yankees have honored the NBA champs quite a few times at Yankee Stadium this year, and they have a special giveaway for New York big man Josh Hart, who is a vocal Yankees fan and fixture at the ballpark. He’s also the great-nephew of 12-time Yankees All-Star and four-time World Series champ Elston Howard. The first 18,000 fans get a bobblehead of Hart rocking a Yankees jersey.
