The 2025–26 college basketball season is set to tip off next week, with a mix of familiar powerhouses and rising programs ready to share the spotlight through March Madness. Few live sports experiences rival the energy of a college basketball game with the passionate crowds and student sections, along with the distinct character of every arena. But which teams truly have the best home environments in the country?

There are plenty of ways to measure home-court advantage, but we’re taking a more objective route. We’ve identified the 10 college basketball programs with the best home winning percentages since 2004 (via TeamRankings) to reveal which schools boast the strongest home-court advantage.

1. Kansas: 93.5% (330-23) Allen Fieldhouse has long been one of college basketball’s most intimidating venues. The Jayhawks’ remarkable home record since 2004 is fueled by both passionate fans and Bill Self’s consistency, turning “The Phog” into nearly an automatic win every time Kansas takes the floor.

2. Gonzaga: 92.8% (298-23) The Kennel in Spokane (officially named the McCarthey Athletic Center) has been a fortress for the Zags. Gonzaga’s home dominance mirrors its rise to national prominence, as Mark Few’s teams have made it nearly impossible for opponents to escape with a win amid the raucous, intimate atmosphere.

3. Duke: 90.8% (315-32) Few places rival the energy of Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Cameron Crazies and Duke’s decades of elite play have made it one of the toughest environments in college hoops—where even top-ranked teams rarely find success.

4. Kentucky: 87.4% (319-46) Rupp Arena’s mix of history, talent, and noise gives the Wildcats a perpetual edge. Since 2004, Kentucky’s blend of elite recruits and home-court pride has kept them among the sport’s most reliable home winners.

5. Akron: 87.3% (281-41) While not a national blue blood, Akron has quietly built one of the nation’s strongest home records. The Zips’ consistency in the MAC and their ability to defend James A. Rhodes Arena has made them a perennial contender.

6. Michigan State: 87.1% (296-44) At the Breslin Center, Tom Izzo’s Spartans thrive on energy and execution. Michigan State’s disciplined style and physicality play perfectly in front of one of the Big Ten’s loudest home crowds.

7. Belmont: 87.0% (247-37) Belmont has turned the Curb Event Center into a model of mid-major dominance. With sharp shooting and efficient offense year after year, the Bruins’ home-court edge has fueled multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

8. Saint Mary’s: 86.2% (311-50) The University Credit Union Pavilion may be small, but it’s mighty. The Gaels’ disciplined play and home-court chemistry have helped them consistently challenge Gonzaga atop the WCC, rarely dropping a game in Moraga.

9. San Diego State: 85.7% (288-48) Viejas Arena has become one of the most electric venues out West. The Aztecs’ defense-first identity and a passionate student section nicknamed “The Show” have made SDSU a nightmare opponent on its home floor.

10. Arizona: 85.7% (299-50) The McKale Center was one the Pac-12’s toughest trips, and it’s remained that way even with the switch to the Big 12. Arizona’s tradition of elite guard play and high-paced offense thrives in front of sellout crowds that have seen few losses in Tucson.
