About Dum Dum Girls
About Dum Dum Girls
Their lead singer has a penchant for black garb, skin-tight leather jackets and a goth-meets-go-girl look (per the LA Times) that more than turns heads. In other words, it's the best get-up for the frontwoman of an indie pop band called the Dum Dum Girls.
From Dum Dum to Dee Dee (Penny, that is), the the lead vocalist who created the Girls as a solo project in 2008 is now at the helm of a five-member group comprised of drummer Sandra Vu, bassist Malia James and guitarists Jules Medeiros and Andrew Miller. The quintet is currently on tour to promote its third studio album, "Too True," released on Sub Pop Records back in January. And for fans who haven't had the chance to catch the group live, you're about to get your chance.
The Dum Dum Girls will bring their post punk vibe to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California on April 11 and 18 and at the Roxy in West Hollywood on April 17. Those are just a few of the dates on their upcoming schedule, which will move overseas in May. Shows in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, France and more are on the horizon.
Riding on the critical acclaim of their latest album, the Dum Dum Girls are also known for their debut project "I Will Be" and the follow-up sophomore effort "Only in Dreams." Their most well-known cuts from those albums are songs like "Coming Down," "Bedroom Eyes" and "Lost Boys & Girls Club."
