New integration will help millions of SeatGeek fans discover and seamlessly purchase tickets to a larger selection of unique live events
New York, NY – June 28, 2017: SeatGeek, a leading mobile-focused ticket marketplace, today announced a distribution partnership with Eventbrite, the world’s largest event technology platform which powers more than two million events around the globe each year, that enables Eventbrite events to be displayed on the SeatGeek mobile app and desktop site. By joining forces, SeatGeek is able to provide its users with a wider selection of tickets to Eventbrite’s unique inventory of tens of thousands of festivals and live music concerts across North America each year.
“Our integration with Eventbrite is another important step toward making the ticketing industry more open, and we’re excited to be partnering with a fellow leader in the live events space,” said Jack Groetzinger, co-founder and CEO of SeatGeek. “Above all, we want to make sure that fans can access and buy tickets in the simplest way possible, and partnering with Eventbrite gives our users access to thousands of additional events each month. We strongly believe in the power of an open ticketing marketplace, which means not only distributing our primary inventory onto other partners, but receiving inventory from other platforms to support the open ecosystem we believe in."
The integration, which launched today, includes:
-In-Platform Purchasing: Fans will be able to seamlessly complete their ticket purchase to Eventbrite events without being redirected, or ever having to leave the SeatGeek app or desktop environment.
-Unique Inventory: SeatGeek will leverage Eventbrite’s open API to list primary event tickets on its mobile-first platform.
-Easy Access to Tickets: Fans will receive a QR code they can access directly within SeatGeek for easy entry, in addition to receiving traditional PDF tickets via email.
Adding the plethora of Eventbrite events is yet another step in SeatGeek’s push to open up the world of ticketing, and to get more fans to more events. SeatGeek already has a deal in place to sell Telecharge Broadway tickets on its platform, and is the official ticketing partner of Major League Soccer. SeatGeek also offers a primary ticketing experience called SeatGeek Open, that uses open distribution to help teams and venues find new fans and power sales across the open web, in third-party sites and apps where fans are already spending their time.
"Eventbrite is focused on helping event creators sell more tickets, and making the process of securing a ticket as easy as possible for attendees, regardless of where they discover that event,” said Tamara Mendelsohn, VP of Product at Eventbrite. “We share SeatGeek’s open approach to integrating with leading technology partners. This new partnership places our organizer’s events squarely in front of potential new fans, as well as helping people find great things to do.”
