SeatGeek Announces Primary Ticketing Partnership with New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans

SeatGeek teams up with Saints and Pelicans to offer fans a brand new ticketing experience starting with the 2018 seasons

New York, NY (November 17, 2017) — SeatGeek today announced a landmark ticketing partnership with the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, making SeatGeek the primary ticketing platform for both teams starting with the 2018 seasons. This agreement – SeatGeek’s first in both the NFL and NBA – represents a fundamental movement in the sports industry toward a technology-first paradigm that benefits both teams and fans.

The SeatGeek platform brings a host of innovative features to the ticketing experience, designed to make it easier than ever for fans of both teams to access and manage their tickets. The company's best-in-class mobile experience enables fans to buy and transfer primary tickets and use their phone for entry to the game.

SeatGeek Enterprise, the company’s primary ticketing platform, also introduces a radically different approach from that of ticketing industry incumbents. Through its open architecture, SeatGeek Enterprise allows the Saints and Pelicans to not only sell game tickets on team websites or through SeatGeek, but also via other league and team partners. This functionality – uncommon in the ticketing space – gives all Saints and Pelicans fans the opportunity to buy tickets direct from the teams in any number of places across the web. Most recently, SeatGeek announced a distribution partnership with Facebook, allowing SeatGeek Enterprise clients to sell tickets directly through the social media platform.

“Our number one priority is our fans, therefore we are partnering with SeatGeek to deliver the absolute best ticketing experience,” said New Orleans Saints and Pelicans President Dennis Lauscha. “SeatGeek allows our fans to explore new, innovative and flexible ways to purchase tickets with full ticket authentication. We are extremely proud of this partnership.”

The Saints and Pelicans agreement marks SeatGeek’s first primary ticketing partnerships in both the NFL and NBA. SeatGeek Enterprise already serves as the ticketing platform for more than 500 organizations on four continents, ranging from sports teams and theaters to museums and major attractions. Well-known organizations including the MLS’s Seattle Sounders and Sporting Kansas City, a growing number of English Premier League teams, and multiple theatres in London’s iconic West End all rely on SeatGeek Enterprise to delight their fans and maximize sales. SeatGeek is also the Official Ticketing Partner of Major League Soccer.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with two of the most dynamic and progressive organizations in the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans,” said SeatGeek co-founder Russ D’Souza. “The SeatGeek platform will give Saints and Pelicans fans easy access to games while helping the teams deliver a better experience to more fans. We’re confident this is just the beginning of a movement across the industry.”

SeatGeek Enterprise clients have been attracted by the incredible early successes the platform has delivered. For MLS club and SeatGeek client Sporting Kansas City, more than 60 percent of single-game purchasers this season have been entirely new to the team’s customer database. SeatGeek has extended Sporting Kansas City’s reach to new fans through its marketing offerings, distribution network, and seamless product experience, bringing thousands of new fans to Children’s Mercy Park over the course of the season.
