Warriors vs. Grizzlies Details
Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Both the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies have carved out space near the top of the NBA's Western Conference year after year, with both teams using very different brands of basketball to obtain their success. The Warriors are the fun, three point shooting team that casual fans love to watch, while the Grizzlies embrace the grind of the long NBA season, focusing on interior play on offense and hanging their hat on a dogged defensive mentality.
In terms of players that have made matchups between the Grizzlies and Warriors what they are, the Warriors have been led by their superstar core that has delivered them titles in Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and even Kevin Durant. Memphis, meanwhile, has leaned on interior presences like Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, while also depending on great perimeter defenders like Tony Allen to forge their identity.
Historic Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Games
There have been plenty of nail-biters played between the Warriors and Grizzlies, including some overtime contests that have had fans on the edge of their seats. In 2014, the Grizzlies grinded out an overtime win over the Warriors, picking up the 88-81 victory on the back of their trademark defense. The Grizzlies got 21 points and 12 rebounds from Zach Randolph, who equaled the scoring output of Klay Thompson, who led the Warriors with 21 points of his own.
In 2017, the Grizzlies got the best of the Warriors in overtime again, grabbing a 128-119 win over a Warriors team that had already proven its championship mettle, and would later do so again by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Memphis won the game in spite of a 40 point performance from Steph Curry, in a game where all five Warriors starters reached double figures in points.
Memphis brought a scoring punch of their own, with Mike Conley scoring 27 points, and Randolph chipping in another 27 off the bench, embodying the Grizzlies' commitment to depth and team basketball. Of course, the Warriors know a thing or two about playing team basketball themselves, given all of their success stemming from their frenetic ball movement, but Memphis was able to do enough to get the win on this occasion.

When Do the Memphis Grizzlies Play the Golden State Warriors?
The Warriors and Grizzlies play each other several times each NBA season, with the two Western Conference foes playing three or four times per season. There is also the possibility of the two sides getting together in the Western Conference playoffs for a best-of-seven series, although that possibility has yet to come to fruition in the history of these teams. Memphis plays their home games in the FedEx Forum, while the Warriors play their home games at Oracle Arena, with both venues playing host to high-profile playoff games in recent seasons.
