It’s been quite a week for the emos (ourselves included): Tom DeLonge is back in Blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer return to their punk roots and Hayley Williams still has orange hair. Even though the 2022 When We Were Young Festival is still a week away, the festival announced its 2023 lineup

We know your questions: Is WWWY Festival the next Warped Tour? Why announce next year’s lineup before this year’s event? Will Boys Like Girls play their self-titled in full? And while we don’t have the answers to everything, we do know what you can expect from next week’s festival. What should I wear to the When We Were Young Festival?

Although it’s autumn, temperatures in Las Vegas remain in the low 80s to mid-70s throughout the day. Nighttime may be a little chillier, but make sure you’re dressed for the hot sun and lots of walking. Think: loose, airy clothing and comfortable sneakers. You should prepare to be warmer than usual, as you’ll be surrounded by other festival-goers in large crowds.

While you can certainly opt for heavy Docs and layers, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day. “Emo” may notoriously have a certain look to it, but we feel it’s more of a personality. Dress however you like, as long as it’s comfortable for you.
