FIFA World Cup 2026 is a great reason to book a trip. But once you’ve picked the match, the real question becomes how to make the most of the city around it. In 2026, some host cities will give fans much more than 90 minutes of soccer, whether it's a rivalry series at the ballpark or a major concert that night.
There's certainly enough happening around the match in several cities to turn one World Cup ticket into a full sports-and-entertainment getaway.
Because SeatGeek has tickets to all of these events in one place, we were able to map out several World Cup trip itineraries that go beyond the match itself.
This is the kind of New York weekend where the calendar almost does not look real: Dodgers-Yankees under the lights on Friday, a major concert on Saturday, and the FIFA World Cup Final on Sunday. The trick is not trying to cram everything in. With Dodgers-Yankees also set for Saturday night, the smarter move is baseball on Friday and either Noah Kahan or Ariana Grande on Saturday. Sunday should belong entirely to the FIFA World Cup Final.

The buzz around Los Angeles should be especially high with the USMNT playing in front of its fans there on June 25 against Turkey. But the appeal of that week is not just the USMNT's World Cup match itself: from June 19–27, the broader L.A. calendar also includes Dodgers and Angels home games, Hollywood Bowl’s opening summer weekend, and Kia Forum shows on both sides of the U.S. game.
You would not need to hit every event for the trip to feel full. A fan could build the week around Dodgers-Orioles on the front end, Madison Beer the night before USA-Turkey, then close it out with A$AP Rocky that weekend.

Dallas-Fort Worth gets a really fun late-June run here, with the World Cup dropping into the middle of a stretch that already has big concert nights on the calendar. Padres at Rangers on June 21 gives the trip an early baseball anchor. June 23 offers a concert choice with either Shakira in Dallas or 5 Seconds of Summer in Fort Worth before AT&T Stadium takes over with World Cup matches on June 25, June 27, and June 30. The June 22 Argentina-Austria and June 27 Argentina-Jordan matches add another major draw too, giving fans the chance to see the defending World Cup champions live and possibly one of the final chances to see Lionel Messi on the World Cup stage, if he plays.
Speaking of June 30, it's possible to see a knock-out FIFA World Cup match and a major concert in the same day. The World Cup Round of 32 match in Arlington starts at 12 p.m. local, and Hilary Duff is at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory at 7 p.m., which makes that one of the rare days in these city packages where the soccer and concert really can fit together without feeling rushed.

Philadelphia’s July run is less about one perfect weekend and more about how one major event rolls into the next. The World Cup Round of 16 on July 4 gives the trip its opening jolt, a lighter concert stretch helps bridge the week, and then the city shifts fully into MLB All-Star mode from July 12 through July 14. That also helps offset the fact that the Phillies are on the road from July 4 until the All-Star break.

If you’re willing to commit to a few jam-packed days, Houston starts to look like one of the most fun World Cup trip cities on the board. The calendar opens with Tigers-Astros on June 16, brings Portugal (and potentially Cristiano Ronaldo) to town on June 17, and then offers a few real chances to pair a sports event with a concert on the same day — from the June 20 World Cup match and A$AP Rocky, to Guardians-Astros and Summer Walker on June 21, and another midday World Cup match before Rosalía on June 23.

Boston’s late-June stretch works best when each day has its own headliner. Joji opens the run on Thursday, the World Cup takes over Friday, Saturday is the rare timing sweet spot where an early Yankees-Red Sox game leaves the night open for The Human League, Soft Cell and Alison Moyet, and Sunday gives fans a choice between one more Sox-Yankees game or French Montana and Max B before the city turns back to the World Cup for Monday’s Round of 32 match. The World Cup dates in Boston are June 26 and June 29, while the Red Sox host the Yankees from June 25–28.
That pacing is what makes this one work. Thursday is better as a concert night because Joji and Sox-Yankees overlap, Friday belongs to the World Cup, Saturday is the best true doubleheader because first pitch is at 1:10 p.m. and The Human League show starts at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday is best treated as a pick-one night before the Round of 32 on Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Miami offers the kind of World Cup trip that can stretch into a full South Florida week. Shakira at Kaseya Center on July 1 and Ariana Grande at Amerant Bank Arena on July 2 set the stage before the Round of 32 match in Miami on July 3, and the calendar picks back up after the holiday weekend with Tame Impala’s two-night Kaseya run and the Marlins opening a home series against Seattle.
The only real catch is that July 7 and July 8 both force a choice. Mariners-Marlins is scheduled for the early evening on both nights, while Tame Impala plays at Kaseya on July 7 and Train, Barenaked Ladies, and Matt Nathanson are up in West Palm Beach on July 8, so those are better treated as pick-one nights than realistic doubleheaders.

Once you’ve figured out which city and which stretch works best for you, SeatGeek makes the rest of the planning easier because you can shop across all of those event types in one place — World Cup matches, MLB games and concerts — instead of bouncing between platforms. And once you’re there, the tools are built for exactly this kind of trip planning: Deal Score helps you quickly judge value, interactive seat maps let you compare where you’ll actually be sitting and price alerts can notify you when tickets you’re watching drop. SeatGeek also shows all-in pricing, so you can see the full cost up front rather than getting surprised at checkout.
The confidence piece matters too when you’re booking a trip around a major event. Every order is backed by our Buyer Guarantee, tickets are delivered securely and customers can get help through its support channels if something goes wrong.
This is the kind of summer trip that does not come around often. It's a rare chance to build an unforgettable week around a global event like the World Cup, and fill the days around it with some of the biggest sports and concert events in the country.
