Los Angeles Rams Preseason Tickets

The Rams franchise began life in Cleveland before moving to Los Angeles in 1951, St. Louis in 1999, and back to Los Angeles in 2016. This nomadic existence meant frequent training camp locales over the years. The Rams prepared for the regular season in California from 1946 to 1994 before the move to St. Louis. Rams fans in the Midwest enjoyed seeing the team hold training camps in Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The team’s move back to Los Angeles led to a training camp shift to the University of California, Irvine in 2016.

Preseason games have taken place at various home stadiums during the team’s existence. During the club’s Cleveland years, Rams games were hosted at Cleveland Stadium, Shaw Stadium, and League Park. The first Los Angeles stint for the Rams was divided between the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Anaheim Stadium. In St. Louis, the Rams played in Busch Stadium and the Edward Jones Dome until returning to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Rams training camp starts in late July with a practice open only to season ticket holders. The remaining practices are open to the public at no cost. The Opening Weekend Kickoff Festival is an annual preseason event during the first public practice that features raffles and appearances by past players. The team treats preseason practices like regular season games with T-shirt and branded memorabilia giveaways. Los Angeles publishes a schedule each year with position groups who appear for autographs after each practice.

The Rams have maintained rivalries bridging its St. Louis and Los Angeles years. Los Angeles plays the Raiders during most preseasons, a nod to their regional proximity. The Rams have also developed a rivalry with cross-city opponent Los Angeles Chargers. Los Angeles Rams fans are also treated to rivalries against the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs that were developed in St. Louis. The Rams enjoy access to food trucks and tailgate parties throughout their home stadium starting with preseason games.

Preseason games have allowed Rams players to prepare for regular and postseason successes. Future Hall of Fame defensive lineman Deacon Jones began a 11-year career with the Rams during the 1961 preseason. Eric Dickerson began his Rookie of the Year season in 1983 Kurt Warner went from a journeyman quarterback to an NFL MVP following Trent Green’s preseason injury during the 1999 preseason.
