The trio started their new musical journey as a progressive rock band, The Smile, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Smile incorporates alternative rock, post-punk and electronic music, giving them a new sound compared to their previous venture as Radiohead. In 2021 the group made a surprise debut at the Glastonbury Festival. In early 2022, The Smile released six singles and later that year came out with their debut album, A Light For Attracting Attention, reaching No. 5 on the UK charts and excited fans worldwide. The Smile is known by critics for bringing back some of the original Radiohead sounds of vintage rock.
