    Great Customer Service

I tested positive for Covid one day before I was scheduled to see a show I had been looking forward to for a long time. I called support and at 10 pm on a Monday they were able to transfer my tickets to the same seats the following month, to a date of my choosing. They coordinated with the box office and sent me follow ups every step of the way. Thanks Ash at Seat Geek!

About David Byrne

David Byrne, born on May 14, 1952, in Dumbarton, Scotland, and raised in the United States, is a renowned musician, songwriter and visual artist best known as the frontman and founding member of the influential new wave band Talking Heads. He co-founded the band in 1975 with fellow Rhode Island School of Design students Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, and soon after added Jerry Harrison to complete the lineup. Talking Heads quickly gained a following in New York’s underground scene, especially at CBGB, and became known for their quirky energy, cerebral lyrics and innovative fusion of rock, punk, funk, and world music.

Throughout the late '70s and '80s, Talking Heads released a string of critically acclaimed albums, including Fear of Music, Remain in Light and Speaking in Tongues. Hits like “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House” and “Once in a Lifetime” helped cement their status as pioneers of art-rock and post-punk. Their 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, directed by Jonathan Demme, is widely considered one of the greatest concert films ever made, showcasing Byrne’s inventive stage presence and the band’s eclectic sound.

After the band dissolved in the late 1980s, Byrne launched a successful solo career that emphasized his eclectic interests in global music, visual art and multimedia. He co-founded Luaka Bop, a world music record label, and collaborated with artists such as Brian Eno, St. Vincent, and Fatboy Slim. His 2008 project with Eno, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, was praised for blending electronic textures with folk and gospel influences.

In recent years, Byrne has continued to innovate across mediums. His 2018 album American Utopia was adapted into a Broadway show directed by Spike Lee, earning critical acclaim and a special Tony Award. The production highlighted Byrne’s commitment to creativity, inclusivity and live performance as a vehicle for connection and thought. From CBGB to Broadway, David Byrne has built a career defined by constant reinvention, artistic risk-taking and boundary-pushing work that blends music, performance and visual art.

David Byrne is going on the Who Is The Sky? World Tour from 2025-2026. The tour is named after his new album which features contributions from St. Vincent, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, The Smile’s drummer Tom Skinner, Ghost Train Orchestra and producer Kid Harpoon.

In 2026, David Byrne's Who Is The Sky? Tour will visit major North American cities including Knoxville, Portland, Vancouver, Santa Barbara, St. Louis, and more.

David Byrne is a Scottish-American musician, songwriter, filmmaker, author and visual artist best known as the frontman of the influential band Talking Heads. He is widely celebrated for his innovative approach to music, performance and art across a five-decade career.

Byrne is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of Talking Heads, the groundbreaking new wave band behind songs like “Once in a Lifetime,” “Psycho Killer” and “Burning Down the House.” He’s also known for his solo work and creative projects in theater, film and global music.

Yes! In 2019, Byrne debuted “American Utopia” on Broadway, a live stage version of his 2018 album. The show was a critical and audience favorite, praised for its unique staging, choreography and message. It was later filmed by Spike Leeand released as a feature-length concert film on HBO.

Byrne blends elements of rock, punk, funk, world music and art pop, often with intellectual or abstract lyrics. He’s also known for his visual creativity, from iconic music videos to multimedia installations and conceptual performances.

Beyond music, Byrne is an author (e.g., How Music Works), film composer, art exhibitor and label founder (Luaka Bop, focused on global music). His work spans cultures and formats, and he’s often celebrated for pushing the boundaries of what music and performance can be.

In September 2025, David Byrne released a new studio album called Who Is the Sky?. The record was arranged with the help of the ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra and produced by Kid Harpoon, reflecting Byrne’s evolving art-pop sensibilities and offering a fresh yet unmistakably “Byrne” sound.
