These artists bring a mix of hip-hop and alternative energy that complements Gorillaz’s genre-fluid performances.

Gorillaz are a virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn (music) and Jamie Hewlett (visuals). The project is represented by four fictional animated members—2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs—while Albarn collaborates with a wide range of real-world artists across genres. Gorillaz are known for blending alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic, pop, and experimental music, along with a strong visual and narrative identity that sets them apart from traditional bands.

Gorillaz’s most recent studio album is Cracker Island, released in 2023. The album features collaborations with artists such as Thundercat, Tame Impala, Bad Bunny, Stevie Nicks, and Beck, and leans into a synth-driven, pop-forward sound while continuing the band’s satirical and conceptual storytelling.
